REDress Installation
Red Dress Day began in 2010 as the REDress project, initiated by Métis artist Jamie Black. The project brings awareness to the ongoing tragedy of race-based violence across Canada and the United States, which has resulted in thousands of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirit people.
The REDress Project has since evolved into a national movement. Now, every year on May 5, red dresses are hung in public spaces around the country as a call for justice for the victims and their loved ones. The empty dresses are a visual representation of the pain and loss felt by the families of victims and act as stand-ins for the staggering number of people who have been murdered or go missing each year.

Grimsby Garden Club Annual Plant Sale
The Grimsby Garden Club is pleased to announed its 2024 plant sale date. Perennials, annuals, flowers, trees, shrubs - from gardeners and wholesalers.
We work hard to get plant donations from the kind wholesalers in the area and plant donations from member and Grimsby resident gardens.
We usually have donations from Freeman Herbs, Dynamic Daylilies Woolverton Nurseries, special new perennials from ValleyBrook Gardens every year? CosMic orchids will be available and more!
And what about member gardens? There will be a few Redbuds from Marilyn Cornwell's garden along with some native plants - Ironweed, Ginger, Bloodroot, Echinacea, Beebalm. We can’t promise what will be on hand, as things arrive close to the sale.
And what makes our garden club sale so great? The PRICES ARE ALWAYS FANTASTIC. This is a 2-day fundraiser for the Club so we price things to sell. And remember there's NO TAX.
The sale will be in Grimsby at Stephen Hargrave's residence at 6 Lawrence Ave - that's near Bartlett and Main. We find that a sale at a residence is relaxed and inviting. We have our members on hand to answer questions. We hope you come and find out.
