Fill an Ambulance
St. John Ambulance invites you to participate in the “Fill an Ambulance” food drive on Sunday, December 15th, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the 4th Avenue Real Canadian Superstore, located at 411 Louth Street, St. Catharines, ON L2S 4A2.
We will be collecting non-perishable food items to support Community Care St. Catharines, helping individuals and families in need this holiday season. Our ambulance will be stationed at the front of the store, ready to be filled with your generous donations.
Let us come together to make a difference in our community. Spread the word, bring your donations, and help us make this event a success!

Yule Faire: A Winter Solstice Celebration

Voices of the Future Author Visit: Joseph Brink
The fourth edition of Voices of the Future weaves together short stories of adventure and imagination in a memorable and heartwarming collection. Experience the next generation’s creativity and vision through these tales from fourteen rising young creatives, including What Lives Beneath the Skin by Grimsby student Joseph Brink. 100% of book purchases go to help young writers attend writing conferences where they can pitch their work to agents and publishers.

Off the Page Poetry Reading/Open Mic
Fareh Malik and Kate Marshall Flaherty will read their poetry before an open mic segment for anyone that would like to share their work.
Fareh Malik is a BIPOC man from Hamilton, Ontario, as well as a seasoned spoken word artist and emerging written poet. Fareh was named the 2022 RBC PEN Canada New Voices Award winner. He was also the winner of Hamilton Art’s Shirley Elford Prize, The 2022 October Project Poetry Award, and MH Canada's 2020 Poetry Contest.
Kate Marshall Flaherty recent books are Titch, Piquant Press 2023, and Digging” Aeolus House, 2022. She's been published in CV2, Vallum, Grain, Room, Trinity Review, The Literary Review of Canada, Event and Tamarack Review. She was shortlisted for the Mitchel Poetry Prize 2021, and Arc’s Poem of the Year 2022. She writes spontaneous Poems Of the Extraordinary Moment (P.O.E.M.s) for charity, in person and online, and guides StillPoint Writing and Poetry Editing Circles online and in person.
