Teen Advisory Group: Lincoln
LPPL is starting a Teen Advisory Group (TAG). TAG members earn community service hours by participating in meetings and assisting with events and programs.
Register for our monthly TAG meetups by filling out a volunteer application online. Applications can also be requested at any LPPL branch.
Please note age range: teen volunteers must be entering high school in 2024 and can be no older than 17.

Historic Fiction Author Night Featuring Kate Quinn
Kate Quinn, international bestselling author of The Alice Network and most recently The Phoenix Crown, joins us for an evening of conversation with a panel of ten bestselling historic fiction writers. Featured authors include Kristin Beck, Laura Kamoie, Monica Kilgore, Eliza Knight, Elizabeth Langston, Madeline Martin, Renée Rosen, Alix Rickloff, Harper St. George, and Bryn Turnbull.
Set at Vieni Estates on the Beamsville Bench, your $45 ticket includes a glass of wine (white, red, or rosé). Non-alcoholic options will also be available. Additional beverages can be purchased.
This is a fundraiser in support of Lincoln Pelham Public Library. A $20 tax receipt is included in your ticket purchase. All proceeds support future collections, programs, and services.

From Slavery to Freedom: Niagara’s Freedom Trail
Explore Niagara’s Freedom Trail – a network of important heritage sites, significant events, and notable Black figures all connected to the story of freedom and the Underground Railroad throughout Niagara.
Rochelle Bush is a descendant of African American freedom seekers who settled in St. Catharines where she was born. Rochelle is a Trustee and the resident historian of the Salem Chapel, BME Church, Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad National Historic Sites, and the owner and operator of Tubman Tours Canada. Rochelle is a Historical Society of St. Catharines Board Director, a past Board Member of the St. Catharines Museum, a certified Niagara Tourism Ambassador, and a registered Niagara Parks tour guide.
Please note this event will take place in-person with an option to attend via Zoom.

St. John's Speaker Series - Bill Schenck, Chair of the 2024 World Rowing Championships and member of FISA
Join us as Bill Schenck (St. Catharines Sports Hall of Famer and owner of Schenck Farms and Greenhouses) shares his reflection on the bidding process and vision for the World Rowing Championships that come to St. Catharines this August. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., tickets $5 at the door. There will be a question and answer session, too. Proceeds benefit the preservation and restoration of this historical building.

Urban Homesteading: Not Just Hippies with Cellphones
Join Chris and Rob from Sentimetal Farm as they explore the urban homesteading journey, including gardening and preserving advice and a look at keeping backyard chickens, and even goats.
Rob and Chris Croley have been working on Sentimental Farm, nestled on the edge of the Niagara Escarpment, for over 30 years. They produce 75% of their food and products for everyday use. Their passion is to live as self-sufficiently as possible and encourage others to establish and achieve their goals for self-sufficiency.

CFUW Book Sale
The CFUW ( Canadian Federation Of University Women ) is a community organization for women, who have pursued post-secondary education, that come together at a monthly dinner and other events, to socialize, share ideas, and engage through guest speakers about issues affecting Canadians.
Each year, we fundraise to offer scholarships to local female high school students (West Niagara Secondary School), as well as one scholarship to a female who has completed their first year of post-secondary program.
To raise funds for our scholarships, we are having our Annual Book sale (including a Kids Corner)--Saturday, April 20th 9am to 12pm at St. Andrew's Church Parish Hall (156 Main Street West, Grimsby)
Donations gladly accepted Friday, April 19th 1-5pm at the same location. All books, except textbooks and reference books, gladly accepted.

Down the Fire for Rowen Grace Treleaven Scholarship
Featuring the band "Down The Fire", made up of local Niagara and Hamilton physicians. All proceeds from the event will go to the scholarship...to be given out starting this year at West Niagara Secondary School in Beamsville, to a graduating student continuing on to either college or university.

Port Dalhousie BWC Earth Day Spring Clean Up
Meet your Port Dalhousie Beautification & Works Committee at Historic Lock 1, 45 Lakeport Road to help clean up our downtown community in honour of Earth Day 2024. Gloves, bags, etc. will be provided. The more volunteers we get, the more ground we can cover. This is a great event for the kids (supervised by parents). Enjoy our local venues for some great food and beverages prior and post event.

Earth Day Event: Urban Forest Management
Ontariogreen, in partnership with the Town, BCACNiagara, Val Fleming Butterfly Garden, Benchlands Citizen Group, Rotary Club of Lincoln Eco, Land Care Niagara, Bruce Trail Niagara and Grimsby Environmental Network, will be hosting an Earth Day Event to educate visitors on the importance of tree care and to promote the Town’s Urban Forest Management Review.

Explore the Memory Lab, an exciting new space to preserve the past for the future.
Drop in to try the new equipment, which can be used for the following:

converting 8 mm film, Super 8 film, VHS, slides, photo negatives, and photos to a digital format

restoring/improving the quality of old photographs

designing family trees
Bring your questions! The Ontario Genealogical Society, Niagara Peninsula Branch will be onsite hosting a Family History Open Forum. The Friends of Lincoln’s History will also be onsite showcasing information about the local archives and answering questions about the Town’s history.
Families can also create a family tree craft using handprints.
The memory lab is made available for community use through the generous support of the Rittenhouse Trust.
