  • Discover Your Community: Konkle Creek Trail Scavenger Hunt

    Join recreation staff and community partners for a FREE scavenger hunt along Konkle Creek trail.  Join us at the outdoor learning pavilion at Rotary Park.

  • Heritage Day Camp

    Welcome to Nelles Manor Museum Heritage Day Camp – an exciting blend of dynamic hands on experiences and fun-filled day camp.

    This year we are three days: July 8, July 9 and July 10 for children ages 8-12!

    Guided by a team of experienced counsellors and heritage professionals, campers will have hands on experience with historical life and times, create a craft project* and develop their own sense of curiosity. Participants will engage in open hearth cooking, mini militia and more! They will also participate in a guided tour of the museum and learn about artifacts from our collection.

    There will be plenty of outdoor time on the beautiful grounds of Nelles Manor. We guarantee our campers will build new friendships and gain confidence while discovering their inner historian!

    Grimsby Environmental Network invites you to a free guided hike by Bruce Mackenzie on Forest Ecology at Southward Community Park.

    Catch the De Menezes Reilly Irish Dancers to see traditional Irish dancing. Adding to the fun, children will have the exciting opportunity to learn some Irish dance steps and experience the joy of this cultural tradition firsthand so bring your dancing shoes! Presented in partnership with Seaway Mall.

  • Welland Supper Market Opening Night

    Beginning Wednesday, July 9, Market Square will be the place to be. Enjoy local food trucks and exciting entertainment. Whether you want a tasty bite after work or a convenient dinner to take home, this is the perfect way to make the most of your summer evenings.

    Stay tuned for weekly announcements on the Recreation and Welland Market Facebook pages to find out which food trucks will be serving up delicious eats at Market Square. Please note that seating is limited, so make sure to arrive early to secure your spot. Please don't forget to bring your own chair.

  • Hot Summer Nights

    On Wednesday nights this summer, fire trucks and fire prevention staff will visit various parks from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., transforming trucks into giant sprinklers. Attendees will also get to tour the trucks and learn about fire safety. Hot Summer Nights is a fantastic opportunity for our community to come together, learn about fire safety, and enjoy some summer fun!

  • HMCS Haida Artillery Experience

    Embark on a unique adventure with our Enhanced Artillery Experience! This exclusive program provides participants with an in-depth historical and technical background on the 4” guns used aboard HMCS Haida during the Second World War and the Korean War.

    Participants will have the rare opportunity to load and fire the 4” guns on-board HMCS Haida, guided by a team of expert Parks Canada staff. Feel the rush as you don historic gun crew gear and immerse yourself in the atmosphere of naval warfare.

    Each ticket includes one complimentary spectator ticket. Spectators can watch but not participate in the Artillery Experience.

    This enhanced program is available on a pre-booked basis only, offering an unforgettable experience for history enthusiasts and adventure seekers alike.

  • Fonthill Bandshell Summer Concert Series: Elvis Lives

    Bruno Nesci is no stranger to the Elvis Tribute Artist World. He’s graced the stages of the World for the last 22 years performing as Elvis Presley, touring across Canada, the USA, and even Italy and Australia. Bruno is the only Canadian Elvis Tribute Artist to place in the TOP 10 in the Ultimate Elvis Contest in Memphis Tennessee and has accomplished this feat for 4 years in a row.

  • Battle of Fort George Reenactment

    Join us as we commemorate 212th Anniversary of the Battle of Fort George.  Re-enactors from all over North America will descend upon Fort George as they re-enact one of the pivotal events in Niagara during the War of 1812.  Battle re-enactments will be happening at 11 am and 3 pm on Saturday and 1 pm on Sunday.  1812 programming including musket firings, cannon firings, music presentations and more will be happening throughout both days inside the imposing walls of Fort George.

  • Gardeners Garden Tour

    The 2025 Gardener's Garden Tour organized by the Niagara-on-the-Lake Horticultural Society promises to be a captivating experience for garden enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. Scheduled for July 12, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., this self-guided tour will showcase a selection of unique gardens, each reflecting the vision, dedication and passions of their homeowners, all of whom are NOTL Horticultural Society Members.

    Visitors will have the opportunity to engage with homeowners who will share their gardening experiences and insights. This event not only showcases the beauty of local gardens but also supports horticultural scholarships for students at Niagara College School of Environment and Horticulture and Niagara Parks School of Horticulture. Join us for this inspiring journey through the gardens of Niagara-on-the-Lake!
