UNLEARN: Author Visit with Michael Jacques
acceptance, and belonging.
Can’t Read, Can’t Write, Here’s My Book—which is written by using an iPad’s speech-to-text function—is a down-to-earth collection of compelling life stories and discoveries that teach us how to embrace and celebrate our differences. Michael, who never surrenders to the idea of “can’t,” speaks about topics such as learning, inclusion, advocating, independence, and the power of perseverance.
His insights and views on the world are equal parts heartbreaking and inspiring. Through his witty and positive voice, Michael offers a glimpse on what it’s like to be him.
Michael’s books will be available to purchase (cash or etransfer).

Polaroid Emulsion Lift with Amber Lee Williams
In this workshop, St. Catharines based interdisciplinary artist Amber Lee Williams will share the magical and fascinating process of creating Polaroid emulsion lifts. Participants will have the opportunity to try several approaches to shooting Polaroid images (working with different cameras, filters, double exposures, etc.). Amber will lead the group through a step-by-step process of how to extract the emulsion lift layer from the Polaroid and transfer it onto a sheet of watercolour paper. Each participant will go home with 3-4 finished Polaroid emulsion lifts.
